This series is about the prevailing fear of almost all Black Americans: economic despair. Mainstream discussions about the current state of our economy almost always place blame upon the impoverished and neglect the factors that place these individuals in the context in which they live. For the Black community this worry becomes a fabric of their everyday lives and a looming monster underneath our beds.
